White, Antique Chest of Drawers - Privately Sold

I was so thrilled to redo this antique chest of drawers, which was painted a yellow color with a greenish glaze. While my client referred to this piece as "her ugly dresser," I thought that it had a lot of potential and I really enjoyed watching it transform into a classy, distressed chest of drawers. We used the original knobs since they matched the carving on the top of the piece so beautifully, and it was painted a soft cream and distressed to achieve a shabby chic look. I am really pleased with how this chest of drawers turned out, and I know it will be beautiful in my client's master bedroom.

Privately sold.

White, Distressed French Provincial Chest

I was really excited to find this very unique French Provincial chest. I believe it used to house a record player, but we replaced the bottom shelf and the backing so it can be used for better storage. It has been painted a crisp white, distressed, and protected for daily use. The chest measures 28"x24.5"x27.5" (l,d,h), and the bottom and top shelves have twelve and nine inches of vertical space, respectively. It could be used for many things such as a side table, a small buffet, storage, etc.

Only $110. Sold

Please note I still have the following items available for sale: Chest of Drawers, Buffet/Dresser, & Computer Armoire.

Black, Distressed Entry Table - Privately Sold

I recently finished this entry table for a client. I had originally planned on mod podging the fabric onto the table top; however, I chickened out. I found an amazing idea in Better Homes & Gardens 100 decorating ideas under $100 magazine and decided to go with it. The piece, painted in classic black, features fabric covered panels that can be placed on the table top and switched out depending on the season/style. I am very pleased with how this piece turned out and I hope my client loves the versatile table in her front entryway.

Blue, Distressed Desk - Privately Sold

The same client who requested the Brown Side Tables requested a desk be painted in the accent color of her master bedroom. She wanted her furniture to match her bedding, which I love, so I was excited to do this project!

The desk was painted the exact same color blue as the thread in her bedding, and we decided to tie some brown into the piece. I distressed the desk and used a brown glaze to give it an aged look and I used the same antique, distressed brass pulls that matched her brown side tables. I think the desk will look lovely in her master suite.

I still have the Distressed, Carved Buffet/Dresser for sale. I also have a lot of neat pieces waiting to be recreated including a console table (1st try at decoupage with fabric), side tables, a coffee table, a buffet, a French Provincial chest, a French Provincial side table, an accent/storage chest, and a bench. If you are interested in customizing any of these pieces then please email me. Thank you for checking out B's Refurnishings!

Tall, Black Bookshelves

Check out these two tall, black bookshelves that I have been working on. These bookshelves are solid oak and they are over six feet tall. I painted them a classic black and applied polycrylic for protection. I replaced the flimsy backing with new beadboard and updated the hardware. The bookshelf on the left has a secretary style door that flips down and would be great for a laptop. It also has two shelves above and three large drawers below. The bookshelf on the right has two large shelves and then behind the doors is another shelf that is hidden. Both bookshelves have lighting behind the top shelf. These bookshelves could be used in almost any room in the house. They are currently in my kitchen and look amazing with my dining room set!
The bookshelves measure 30"x 16.5"x 77" (l,d,h). They will be sold as a set.

Only $300. (SOLD)

Red Coffee Table - Privately Sold

I just completed this piece for a client who wanted a colorful coffee table for her new home. I painted this table an apple red and then applied a black glaze over the top. I also added a hammered oil rubbed bronze bin pull to replace the original wooden knob. I was very pleased with the outcome and hope it works perfectly in my client's space!

~Not For Sale.

I came across this same coffee table and the matching side table (click HERE to see the matching side tables example) at a yard sale and snatched them up. If you are interested in having either the coffee table or the side tables custom painted then please email me and we can make it happen!

Rustic, Hammered Side Tables

This past month I decided to try my hand at the hammered look. I found this picture online and it was my inspiration (please note the console pictured directly below is not for sale). I love how the stain is darker in some places and lighter in others.

Not only did I decide to try the hammered look (not on the tabletops), but I also tried my hand at staining Mexican Pine. I am not sure how Mexican Pine normally stains but I noticed that my two pieces picked up stained in different ways. The tables definitely did not turn out like the console table above; however, I think they look really cool. They seem to look lighter/darker depending on the lighting. I think they have a lot of character and would make a wonderful addition to a house/cabin with a more rustic style. I looked online to see how much the side tables usually cost and they are about $170/table. You can view them HERE. The tables measure 24"x24"x20" (l,w,h). They will only be sold as a set.

Only $150. (SOLD)
