Black, Distressed Entry Table - Privately Sold
I recently finished this entry table for a client. I had originally planned on mod podging the fabric onto the table top; however, I chickened out. I found an amazing idea in Better Homes & Gardens 100 decorating ideas under $100 magazine and decided to go with it. The piece, painted in classic black, features fabric covered panels that can be placed on the table top and switched out depending on the season/style. I am very pleased with how this piece turned out and I hope my client loves the versatile table in her front entryway.

Black Secretary Dresser
I re-did this secretary dresser for myself over a month ago. I thought I had the perfect space in my entryway; however, I have decided it is actually too big for my space. This dresser has been painted black, and all the pulls have been updated from shiny brass to lovely antique brass. I also added an antique brass drop knob on the drop down shelf. This piece is very versatile and could be used for anything from a dining room server to a laptop desk in a smaller space. The secretary dresser measures 34.5"x17"x40" (l,d,h). The drop down shelf measures 32" deep.
Only $225. (SOLD)

Please note that the Distressed White Dining Room Set posted last week is now for sale.

Black Antique Washstand Dresser
This dresser required a major overhaul. It was a beautiful antique washstand dresser covered in bird's eye maple veneer that had severe damage to the top surface's veneer. I decided to remove the destroyed layer of veneer and replace it with a more affordable wood when I found out that a sheet of maple veneer was $350! I painted the dresser a classy black and added amber glass knobs with brass accents to match the antique skeleton key holes. I love this piece! It would look great in any room in the house.
The dresser measures: 40"x22"x27" (l,d,h).
Only $200. (SOLD)

Black Distressed Dresser - Not For Sale
I visited my husband's family this weekend and his mother asked me to redo a dresser for her. This dresser had been painted at least three different times and was also used as my husband's baby changing table years ago. I loved getting the chance to work on such a special piece. His mom wanted a black dresser distressed with a hint of clay showing through. She also chose the absolute perfect knobs to go with her two color choices. Time did not allow for us to put a protective layer on it, but they will be doing that next week. Once the protection is applied, the areas that were distressed regain the satin finish of the surrounding unaltered areas. We had a wonderful time working on this piece and we think it turned out great!

Secretary Dresser - Not For Sale
I have completely redone this dated 70's secretary dresser and turned it into a classy piece for a client. This dresser has been painted black and all the pulls have been replaced from shiny brass to lovely antique brass. I also added an antique brass drop knob on the drop down shelf. This will definitely make a beautiful and functional addition to my clients' entryway!

Wow! It has been almost two months since my last post. The holiday season was busy for personal reasons, but I am back from a trip overseas and have a few things I will be working on over the next month. I am almost finished with an antique washstand dresser and it is looking great! I will be working on a unique bookshelf and a dining room set over the next month. I am sure it gets frustrating to see furniture that is not for sale, but I want you to see examples of my work that isn't put up for sale. Also, if you have anything that you would like redone then please feel free to email me. Happy New Year!

Black Dining Room Set - Not For Sale
I recently finished this dining room for a very eager client [myself]. This was definitely one of my most challenging projects but I think it turned out amazing! I was thrilled to discover that this piece was sold somewhere between 1916-1940. As I was removing the re-upholstery, I found beautiful black leather seat cushions in perfect condition. Let me just say the client was very pleased! :o)

The holiday season will definitely be light at B's Refurnishings; however, I will be working on finishing a dresser/desk and possibly another dining room set before the end of the year. I also have the Roll Top Desk and the German Rocking/Glider Horse available. Please let me know if you have any questions. Happy Thanksgiving!

Black Distressed Dresser
I have just finished this six drawer dresser. I used many layers of paint with the final two coats being black. This piece has been distressed to show beautiful reds and some of the natural wood color. The old hardware was replaced with oil-rubbed bronze to continue the distressed theme. The drawers have also been painted black. The dresser includes a matching mirror. Again, I am tempted to keep this dresser for myself!
The dresser is 50"x19"x32 1/2" (l,d,h) & the mirror is 37"x33 1/2 (l,h).
Only $200 (SOLD).
